"> Fly Your Experiment
WHO CAN APPLY
SATINS works mainly with K-12 students & teachers but we will give anyone from anywhere in the world the opportunity to fly an experiment or an item on a SATINS flight.

Go to our contact page and fill out the the short form below and a SATINS representative will be in contact with you either by phone or email. Thank you!

Your payload will be flying above 99.5% of the atmosphere, a place with infinite scientific possibilities.

Do you remember the Star Wars battles with loud explosions? This is one of the greatest physics errors in movies! You can prove the absence of sound in vacuum conditions with an experiment as simple as a buzzer and a microphone.

For those interested in atmospheric sciences, balloon flights are the most interesting platform. For example, oxygen, ozone or carbon dioxide compositions, among others, can be monitored during the flight.  Atmospheric dynamics can also be studied by characterizing the different wind speed layers.

If you have an engineering mindset and love to build your own instruments, why not build your own probe for measuring pressure, temperature or balloon attitude?
The flight allows for 10 seconds of microgravity. Test how life is in these conditions studying fluid responses to microgravity or how mechanical instruments works under these conditions.

Many differences exist between the conditions on earth and in Near-Space. You can determine how magnetic fields are in Near-Space, how the radiation varies with the altitude, determine the solar spectrum at high-altitude or even study how exposure to Near-Space affects biological samples. Balloon flights are also especially well suited for cosmic rays experiments.

This list is only an indication to spur your own creativity: we expect to be surprised! You can combine several experiments in the same box or even create payloads in new fields such as arts or humanities. All kinds of experiments are welcome and will be considered.
